pH is a measure of how acidic or how alkaline (not to be confused with totalalkalinity) the water is.

The pH scale is 0 to 14, with 0 being very acidic and 14 very alkaline. pH 7is neutral and for spas the pH should be maintained between 7.2 and 7.6, thisbeing slightly alkaline protects the spa and support equipment from aggressive, corrosive water and is comfortable for bathers.
